Fund Summary Dashboard Double Counting?

Options
In closing out our fiscal year which ended on June 30, I've found that my Fund Summary dashboard shows $30,000 more than my Campaign and Appeals dashboards.  My finance manager knows the offending record, but we can't figure out why it is being double counted. It's not a soft credit issue, a matching gift issue or a matching pledge issue.

When I run a Gift Summary on the donor's constituent record, it's shows the $30,000 I expect to see ($5,000 to a program fund ad $25,000 to a scholarship fund).  When I run a Gift Summary and a Fund Summary from the fund record, it shows the gift correctly; total giving of $7,351 to the program fund and $46,220 to the scholarship fund.  But the darn Funds Summary dashboard keeps showing $12,351 to the program fund (double counting the $5,000) and $71,220 to the scholarship fund (double counting the $25,000).

I noticed that I had two solicitors who are credited with soliciting the gift, so I thought maybe somehow it was counting the gift for each solicitor.  But when I removed one of the solicitors, the result is the same - still double counting these $5,000 and $25,000 gifts from on donor constituent.

I searched the KB and community and didn't see anything that relates to this problem.  Thoughts, ideas?

  • Was the gift originally a pledge and the dashboard is counting both the pledge as well as the pledge payment?
  • The $5,000 contribution was an outright gift and Gift Type is Cash.

The $25,000 contribution was first half of $50,000 pledge and Gift Type is Pay-Cash.

I don't think that's the issue especially since it's also double counting the $5,000 which wasn't a pledge.

    Neither gift has been adjusted.

It never fails ... after removing one of the solicitors, I refreshed the dashboard and it read the same.  I logged out and logged back in and the number still hadn't changed, so I posted here.  I just realized that I needed to refresh the dashboard again and lo and behold, it's finally correct!!

I'm still a bit perplexed here, however, because I didn't think solicitors were taken into consideration in the dashboard.  In looking at the dashboard properties, the only selections made are funds to include, gift types to include, date range and columns to show.  It seems that some of the basic criteria then automatically includes every gift for every assigned solicitor and that's how/why I got the double counting.

Has anyone else run into this issue? Is it a glitch/bug that needs to be corrected and if so, who/how do I report it?
