Recording survey responses

Options
Hi all,

We've just sent out the first of what will be our annual survey. I'm just wondering what people's experiences are with recording responses. For things that don't change, for example, people's date of birth, it's pretty straightforward but I'm wondering whether people have any advice or thoughts about answers that may change. For example, we asked whether people would be interested in doing different types of fundraising. Obviously this may change so one option is to create a 'Survey 2016' category and put the information in there and then next year do a 'Survey 2017' category etc. and then just use the most up-to-date information when we're communicating with people. Or, we could create a 'Fundraising' category and tick in there what they're potentially interested in. However, if their responses are different next year, how would we then easily record that? We did the surveyusing SurveyMonkey so we're importing from a spreadsheet.

Any thoughts/advice gratefully received!

Thanks.

  • Hi Sarah - Sounds great. Maybe adding a journal contact to each record with the 2016 Fundraising Interest Category?? Then you could set up a UDF here with a begin and end date?? or Use a 2016 Survey response as a Contact Method...then 2017 Survey Response? This would make it easy to query by the Contact Method and type of Fundraising Interest .... I would love to see your survey - could you send me a link to it. Now I'm wondering if eTapestry could be used for surveys....hmmm
