Good question. smiley  As our soft-credit letters are run separately, I print the envelopes directly off the letter file (Mailings > Envelopes).  It's either that or printing envelope for single record or a query containing the records you've SC for.  I know I've seen a post where a user includes envelope as part of letter document.  Haven't tried that due to printers I works with.
  • That depends on what set of envelopes you want printed.  How do you determine who they go to?  Which function are you using to print the letters/receipts that go into the envelopes?
  • I run my envelopes using the same query I use for acknowledgements. I choose to credit both the donor and the SC recipient that way it gereates all the envelopes I need.

I want the soft-credted recipient for a donor-advised fund gift to receive the letter, so I create a query using "soft credit to both" where I see both the hard credited and soft credited donor, but in Mail, Envelope, I don't see a way to include "both".

  • If those people are in the results of the Query then they should get a letter generated in Mail > Envelopes > Constituents.  That function doesn't care about anything financial, like Soft Credits.  It only looks at who is in the source Query.  As long as the Soft Credit recipients aren't excluded by other criteria in the Mail function (Filters, Attributes, Segment Tabs) they should get an envelope generated.

If you create an output query from the original Donor Acknowledgement Letters mailing, you can use that for the envelopes. It will include the soft credit recipients that received letters right in with everyone else!
