  • Change the PDF to a jpeg and it should work.
  • Yes, changing the pdf into a jpeg works, but I don't want the jpeg to be open.  I want to insert an attachement as a pdf file for our newsetter sign ups to receive instead of directing them to our website to download.

  • I'd be surprised if this was possible. I'm a little hazy on the practicalities, but PDFs have the potential to be far, far larger in size than jpgs and (I think) I think if this facility was available would it hugely increase the amount of bandwidth that BB needed. It's the same (again, I think) for Mailchimp and other mass-mailing products.

Just to throw it out there, perhaps it's worth thinking more widely about what it is you are trying to achieve. Is it a mass emailing or just an email you send out to a few people at a time? If it's the latter, then perhaps you could do that via Outlook or whatever email program you use. OnEx is more of a mass mail solution.

On the other hand if it's something you send to lots of people then perhaps think whether it would be worth the investing the time in properly designing the email so it the content is put across in email format, rather than an attachment which isn't quite as natural (for want of a better word)? Or if there's a reason it has to be a PDF then is there really a probelm with getting people to click to go to an online PDF than an attached one? It's still just one link.

Hope that's not too much of an annoying thing to say.

  • Yes. As mentioned in other threads, OLX is not designed to allow email attachments because it is considered poor practice in the email industry. Attachments are the #1 source of email-transmitted viruses, and so recipients tend to view them with skepticism.
