Adding an email interest on Ecard submit or Tell a Friend

I'd like users who send an ecard to be added to an email interest but there is no option to customize or "add a question" to put the hidden interest update. Tell a Friend has even fewer controls available. The email interest isn't a default interest. Is there someway of doing this?
