OLX Emails

Options
I'm getting ready to send our first ever email through OLX. The query I created produced over 5,000 emails. When I loaded the query into the Send screen in OLX, that number went down to a little over 4,800. Now that the query is loaded and I'm ready to send, OLX shows the number of emails to be a little over 4,500. What happened to reduce the number of emails I had in my original query?

  • It likely is a combination of factors.

Did you build your Query with any Output or Sort Fields that cause incorrect dupes (i.e. two rows for one email address)?

Are there Phone Types in your Query that are not pulled by OLX?  (That's an Integration Setting, I think.)

Are any of the Phones marked Inactive?

Are there duplicate email addresses on different records?  (I.e. husband and wife have separate Records but use the same email address.)

There are probably other possibilities.  In my experience, the number (~4800) on the OLX List won't be the same as the number of Recipients when the message is sent, either.

Unless you are super concerned and have the time (and patience) to comb thru records and scrub them really well, I would just send your message, push the data to RE in a couple of hours, and then look to see if anyone in your Query didn't get the Appeal added to the record.  Investigate those, deal with your Opt-Outs and Bounces, and move on to other things.  =)  Unless someone else chimes in with a solid reason why it matters or what the cause might be...
