Add "Constituent ID" to Gift Detail and Summary Report

Options
Our organization has grown accustomed to using Constituent IDs to identify constituents, especially because we have so many different systems interfacing.  As such, we'd like Constituent ID field added to the Gift Detail and Summary Report, for the Detail report view.  That report is one of the most widely used ones, and while gifts, campaigns, funds, and appeals all have ID fields available, constituent ID is not one of the fields.  Please rectify this.

  • You can create an output query from the report and add the constituent ID to that.
  • Karen Stuhlfeier:

You can create an output query from the report and add the constituent ID to that.

Karen - I agree with you, but that defeats the purpose of the "run it and print it" nature of the canned reports in RE.  I can just as easily create an export with all of the fields, but I rely on the reports module to generate reports quickly.  Not including the constituent ID seems like a major oversight - especially when the IDs show up in the Crystal Reports report window.

  • That is pretty cool. I don't need to have the constituent ID in a report or addressee line, but that would work really welll.
  • Just posted in another thread...I have an Additional Addr/Sal as the Title Bar on Records, among other uses like in lists & reports...it's an Alpha Sort, which includes the ConstID, showing as:

    Hernandez, Robert C., Bob & Hernandez, Wendy - 4567891

Unfortunately, for Organizations, at least with Queries and Exports, you can't use an Addr/Sal, so I have that on an Attribute (copy-and-paste the Org Name then edit for length, alphabetizing, etc.).  Then you just have to combine the two columns in your exported data.
  • There is an option to show constituent id for organisations in reports, and I have no idea why they didn't do the same for individuals:

  • The issue with this report is not that you can't show cons ID (Everyone has suggested simple changes to add to get cons IDs for both individuals and orgs) the problem is going to be space. Without a decicated column for ID it is just going to make your constituent name field longer. I do not know why you can't allow the longer names to wrap instead of getting cut off on reports like this.
