Export to PDF

Disclaimer: This is my first day ever using Raiser's Edge and I couldn't find the answer to this in the forums.

I have logged into my account at https://renxt.blackbaud.com and am viewing a list of donations using the filter "gifts within the current calendar year." I would like to print this list to PDF for my personal records and so I can print it out. I can not find an export feature to do this. I am able to use my browser's print to PDF feature but it automatically adds the path to every donation making it very non viewer friendly. I really don't need any advanced features. I just want to log on once a month and export all the donations. I've attached a screenshot of what it looks like when I print to PDF. Thank you.

  • You could try using the CutePDF printer - it's a little program which might do what you want. It works similarly to the browser's print to PDF option, but might be different enough to work. Alternatively, try a different browser.

Sorry that's not much help, but we're still only in th eprocess of shifting to NXT and haven't got there yet.

  • I do not have NXT either so I'm not sure exactly what you are talking about but you could use Jing to make a screen shot - it is a free download that allows you to cut exactly what you want to capture for a screen shot

    good luck!
  • There is a printer icon on the top right hand side ot the screen where you can export a PDF of the report on some of the pages. i don't think that all of the features are fully developed in NXT yet.
  • If you are wanting to print from an NXT screen that doesn't have a printer icon (as Karen mentioned), then I would open the Help Menu and search for that function.  Do a quick Support Chat if you still can't find it.  And it may not be there yet.  Print capabilities are only in NXT because of customer request...the intent is that everything will be accessed via computer/device and there is no need for "paper".  Which is a nice idea in theory but not always practical in reality.  So the print function isn't (yet) available throughout NXT, only in some areas...and after just double-checking, it does not appear to be an available function in Lists at this time.

I suggest visiting the NXT Idea Bank, specifically this Idea, this Idea, and maybe this Idea.  Vote and comment.  You'll notice some responses from Admins so you can see BB staff actively monitoring the Idea Bank (they're also paying attention in the Community, but moreso in the Idea Bank).  So comments that more fully explain what you need and why you need it are really helpful to the design teams.  Remember that the staff who are writing/designing NXT are not fundraisers, so the way BB is developing this product is great in that we (the users) get to have input and influence over how it's developed, but the downside is that we're using a product that isn't "finished" or fully functional.  Very frustrating to some, but I'd rather deal with limited functionality and in the end get features that I want/request than have a fully functional product that doesn't quite do what I want it to do (or how I want it to do it).  So please spend some time in the Idea Banks...and sign up for Discovery Calls when you get the chance.

You can now save a List in NXT as a static query in RE:7...under the [Save] button.  If that helps at all.

  • I would also suggest posting your question on the RE NXT forum, rather than the RE7 forum. Not everyone who uses RE7 has transitioned to NXT, nor plans to, so RE7 forums may not have the experience to respond to your questions.

You could also ask Holly Herbert (the Community Manager for RE) to move your post to an NXT topic.  Then you don't have a duplicate thread to monitor.  =)

  • Easy work around is to copy data and paste into excel. Can print to PDF there.
