Questions - Email Sign Up with Code Snippet

Options
Hello - I've got a few questions regarding the code snippets for getting people to sign up. We've put the code snippet on our non-Luminate site (righthand side on this demo page: http://ohfoundation.lightmakerdmz.com/news-and-stories)

Question 1: When we fill out the fields, the submit button either does nothing (Firefox) or goes to an "about:blank" page (Chrome). How do we ensure it actually works or what do we need to add to the code to make it go through and also go to a specific page?

Question 2: How do we get the constituents who sign up to go into a specific group in Luminate?

Question 3: If we have two versions of an eNewsletter we're trying to capture subscribers for, how do we alter the code snippet to separate the people who sign up for each?

Thank you in advance for any help whatsover you can provide.

  • I asked very similar questions earlier and here's the answer I got from support regarding your question 2:

"In order to use this survey to create a group or interest, you'll need to go into the survey and select the option there. In step 2. Include questions, under Related Actions, choose Associate Groups and Interests. From here you can choose the group or interest category you'd like them to be added to. You could create your enewsletter group and make this survey automatically add to that."

Hope this helps and sorry, I'm not savvy enough to help with the rest of the questions. Let's wait for help from others.

    cheers,

  • Hey Heather,

The survey you are using is the short survey and it needs to be published in order for you to submit the registrations.  Right now that survey shows it's unpublished.  Once corrected it will redirect users to the long survey which is setup as the redirect upon submission.  You will want to offer users the options within the long survey an option to sign up for newsletter a or newsletter b.  You can do this by adding an interest categories and creating two interests for the two options you want folks to register to.
