A little off RE topic

Hi Everyone,

This isn't totally RE related, but partially.

I just had a 24" monitor installed and have noticed some parts of RE aren't totally visable.  I've attached a screenshot to show what I mean.  As you will notice, on the Prospect tab, Total Given and the Last Gift is chopped off a bit.  Has anyone experienced anything similar after installing a 24" monitor.  Anyone out there have any advice on what settings would help alleviate this?

I think this is one of those things that RE does. I've had users adjust their resolution or zoom based on personal preferences and RE just doesn't adapt and cuts things off.

I would recommend speaking with your IT person about changing the compatibility settings on your monitor. Just a few months ago, I changed from a standard monitor to a 30" (got hand-me-downs from the Communications dept - love it) and have had no problems with RE displays. In fact, in Batch, I have even more room for displaying columns than before. But, I know our IT guru ran something to adjust the compatibility settings when he was first installing it. This sounds to me like a computer-monitor communication issue, not a RE issue.

That is interesting. I know others have definitely had issues when adjusting the DPI from the default to something larger. I'd love to know what your IT guy did, because mine didn't have a solution.

We have a few users who have seen this issue - and another where the text wraps onto two lines for some fields.  It's aggrivating, but we've yet to find a solution. There seems to be no reason, either.


If anyone has a solution, I'd love to hear it too!

I have had this problem before.  It has to do with the display settings on your monitor.  You will have to adjust them down a notch and then everything will be visible. :-)

We had a (probably) related problem - field labels on a tab were cut off, sort of squashed, sometimes to the point of illegibility, but never consistently from one day or field or user to the next.  I was quite irate when the tech at BB told me to adjust the resolution on my monitor to something or other - which would have messed up everything else.  I said no thanks and just put up with it.  Another more articulate tech at BB said it was some kind of glitch that couldn't be fixed (or at least was WAY down the priority list) and that what you do is change the settings on your monitor, reboot RE, then you can change the settings back again.  I still said no thanks, but at least I knew that BB was aware of it and there was a fix if needed. Ah, well...nobody's perfect!
