Removing Constituents from Interest Opt-in group?

I have an interest opt in set on a donation page, and need to know how to remove someone from that opt-in group after the fact.


I go to their record, and see in their group section that they are in the group, but when editing the groups from there, the opt-in group does NOT show in the list. When I go to the interest tab, it only shows web interests, not email interests. When I go into the interest opt in group, I find the person, but no way to delete or remove them.


So, how do I remove them from the group?

Hi Jeffrey, 


You'll want to update that constituent's "Email Preferences" (and the group membership should update automatically based on that). Here's the path to follow in the Admin site:

Constituent 360 > Constituents > look up the constituent > Edit link > Email Preferences (3rd from left in the subnav) > you can toggle the "subscribe/unsubscribe" preference here.

AH - bingo - makes sense, I just was not thinking that route - I was too "group" oriented.

The groups rebuild periodically and will re-add people who have been manually removed if their email subscription hasn't been updated.

There's also an import to do large quantities of constituents. The Custom Constituent Import can add or remove cons from interests, if I recall correctly.
