RELO - Difference between a Matched record and a Linked record

Options
In the RELO integration tool, when I am looking at the constituent records that come across from LO to RE, what is the difference between a matched record and a linked one?

I tried reviewing the RELO training overview guide, but it seems like they mean the same thing? When I look at a matched record and a linked one, they both have the Luminate ID as an alias so I'm a bit confused.

  • I think I got it...and boy do I feel silly.

A linked record is one that has a legitimate link between the Raisers Edge Record and the Luminate Online record (one way to check is to click on the Alias button in RE, a linked user will have an Alias Type of "Lumiante ID"

A matched record is one that the RELO believes, based on the "Constituent Matching" options you selected in the RELO tools Options settings, is the same record between RE and LO.

I'm just waiting for a potential match to come through and I'll confirm then.
