Electronic Signature for Authorization Release of School Records?

How does everyone do an Authorization Release for School Records online? Our Authorization Release is currently attached with our Enrollment Application as a hard copy. We are now trying to do everything online, but I'm not sure if there is a way to do an electronic signaure in order for parents to give authorization to release school records. How does everyone else do this?

    Hello Brynn,


    The only real option in The Education Edge for signatures is to do so with an attribute.  An attribute can be created in EE and called "2016-2017 Authorization Release Signature" or something like that.  This new attribute can then be mapped to the form and made to be required so it cannot be submitted without being filled out.  


    This will just be a text attribute that will write to the record in EE.  As far as being legally binding and official for something like this it would definitely be up to the legal department for the school.  They usually have to give the OK on whether or not this is an appropriate way to proceed.
