Connecting Security Categories and Security Groups .. how?

Options

Hi all.

We have a donation form for an event wherein we'd like one of the Donation Levels to be restricted to our organization's Members (in other words, only our Members should have access to a event price (assuming they log in).

I've setup a Security Category, and have assigned that particular donation level to that category.

I've also setup a group and populated with our members via a query.

The problem I'm having is connecting the Group with the Category.  I don't see a way to do this.  What am I missing?

Any help along with way would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Mike

  • Edit the Category Permissions for your Security Category, make the Content Viewing permission default to 'Cannot View Content'.

Now users should not see your protected items in that category.

Next add a new group for your allowed users, it has to be a User Security Group.

Go to the Group Permissions tab on the group, and edit the Content Viewing permissions.

Now add an override, select your security category and click 'View Content for the group MYGROUP.'

Let us know if this doesn't do it for you. I've only messed with this a few times so far.
