BCF is a dynamic organization poised for growth because of a dedicated small staff team and a committed eighteen member Board of Trustees. The Foundation is currently implementing a three-year strategic plan that maps out how BCF can make an even bigger impact in meeting the needs of the town in collaboration with other organizations and community leaders.

 

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

 
The Manager of Accounting and Financial Systems oversees the financial integrity of BCF’s financial systems and records. Responsibilities include:

 
  • Oversee BCF’s financial information assets including the accuracy, security, timeliness, and consistency of data stored in FIMS
  • Perform data quality control processes and data entry
  • Manage entire accounts payable process
  • Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings including petty cash, credit card, asset and liability reconciliations
  • Draft regular and ad-hoc financial statements
  • Manage annual audit and ensure compliance with all required reporting
  • Ensure accurate and timely review of gifts, and posting of pledges, stock donations and in-kind donations.
  • Utilize FIMS to enter journal entries and create reports/templates as needed
  • Manage all aspects of human resources vendor management
  • Manage time-off tracking of all staff and provide regular monthly updates
  • Manage payroll including transmission, updates and GL entry
  • Work closely with the Deputy Director of Finance and Operations (DDFO) to ensure secure, timely, and appropriate flow of financial and donor information
  • Act as BCF’s FIMS administrator including, but not limited to, maintaining need- based access for all staff, oversee any required FIMS updates, troubleshoot for all modules, explore revision of acknowledgement process with development staff, develop procedures for staff following best practice and BCF needs, develop templates as required for data import, provide ongoing support to staff and act as liaison with MicroEdge/FIMS.
  • Recommend, document and follow internal processes and practices
  • Manage BCF petty cash account
  • Perform other duties as assigned by DDFO
  • Participate in BCF event planning acting as a team resource as time and resources permit
  • Hire and supervise interns and/or volunteers.
 QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BA preferred
  • 5 years of related accounting experience
  • Highly organized and detailed-oriented
  • Experience with FIMS (or other fund accounting software) and advanced database skills
  • A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which support and enable sound decision making
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • A multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced environment
  • Discretion and respect for information privacy
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of BCF
 
Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with experience. The BCF office has a flexible work schedule.
