Ecommerce and constituent records

It appears that when people make ecommerce purchases

--their information is not updated

--if there are two profiles for the person it is unclear to me which luminate chooses (it does not match on address, for instance). 


Is there something i can do to have the store update the profile? (Or is that undesirable for some reason?) 


It also appears that the store is causing a huge number of records to need to be merged by hand in RE. Any "Best practices" that will minimize the work of merging after a big ecommerce push?

  • UPDATE: I'm not sure I'm right - staff say records are showing up in Raisers Edge with updated addresses - but multiple profiles are being created. (And then staff have to decide which information is correct). 


    Anyone who has information on this, it would be most appreciated!
