Updating Forms

Options
I am new to using Online Express and trying to better understand a few things. I have created a couple events forms and have a couple questions to make sure that they were made correctly. 
  1. In the Get Started tab, what is the difference between the registrants number and max columns? 
  2. Branching off the previous question - if I have a sponsorship level that includes say two tables of 8 in the price, do I need to change the registrants number to 16? And if I do that, when someone selects that sponsorship level do they have to complete all 16 registrant names at the time of signing up? Many times we have sponsors give these tickets away that same month of the event and not know the names of the individuals that are going to be attending when initially completing the events form. 
  3. In the Get Started tab there is an option to Generate receipts for this form (optional). Is this how someone receives their tax receipt?
  4. Once the events form has been created and embedded into a website, if I make changes to the form in Online Express will these changes automatically be updated or do I need to embed the JavaScript again?

    Registrants number = total number of people/guests that are 'included' in that price.

    Max = total number of that price that can be registered at one time.


    So let's say you have a golf tournament where a twosome is $500 and a foursome is $1000; you don't want any single transaction to allow for more than 12 golfers (I don't know why you'd do this, just play along...)

    You should have:

    Twosome - 2 registrants - 6 max

    Foursome - 4 registrants - 3 max

    Granted, someone could still register 6 twosomes and 3 foursomes, but you get the idea. We always leave the max at 10. I could really only see this being used for sponsorship levels perhaps? But all of our major sponsors come from outside online gifts, so we've never included them as price in an OEX form.

    Yes - set it to 16 for registrants number. This is helpful when you download the transaction, too, because RE automatically creates 16 guests under that registration. It sounds like you'll want to "allow anonymous individuals" (on the Field Options tab) then. This displays a "register later" checkbox for each registrant, and allows the payor to skip providing that info.

    In the Get Started tab there is an option to Generate receipts for this form (optional).

    We don't use the receipts. We simply include tax lanuage in our Thank you letter (a carry over from previous practice.)

    If I make changes to the form in Online Express will these changes automatically be updated?

    Any changes are automatically updated once the page is refreshed. It's one of my favorite things about OEX! (no waiting for our Corp Comm group to publish web changes...) The HTML code is the same.


    *This is one of our live forms that shows the 'number of registrants' pretty clearly, if it helps. We also allow the 'anonymous individuals' option as you can see. (Text for that box is editable too, so we added a little more language.)
