Summary Description:  The Specialist has the overall responsibility for managing a database of prospects and tracking them throughout the donor lifecycle, grow Catholic Charities fundraising and brand nationwide and organize, track, and monitor all advancement projects in support of the annual budget.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform day-to-day database management to ensure proper stewardship of donors and accurate record keeping
  • Assist in the creation and management of nationwide gift campaigns
  • Research potential corporate, individual, and foundation donors and writing concise profiles
  • Draft correspondence with donors and prospects, including outreach and thank you letters and grant reports in collaboration with program and finance department staff
  • Manage the logistics of donor cultivation events such as small group dinners and presentations across the country
  • Oversee the proper acknowledgment of all charitable donations and ensuring efficient and effective stewardship of all donors
  • Plan, manage, and implement training initiatives for member agencies
  • Develop resources for the Advancement Team and the Development and Communication Section
  • Prepare database activity and performance reports as needed
  • Review database design and integration and make recommendations for enhancements and improvements
  • Prepare components of grant proposals such as budgets and background documents and drafting concept papers and other proposal documents
  • Provide support as needed to the Advancement Team
  • Provide logistical support for meetings, conferences, and special events

  • Competent in Raiser’s Edge or equivalent donor/membership database
  • Ability to format and generate reports utilizing the database
  • Maintain and track deadlines for contracts, invoices, and reports
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work with multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to accurately input data into database
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Strong writing, editing, organizational, and communication skills

Education & Experience:   
  • BS/BA (or equivalent experience) in business management or related field
  • One year experience working in fundraising or event planning
Work Environment:
  • This position may require extended periods of standing, sitting, as well as some repetitive movements, bending and repetitive lifting of minimal weight
