Accordion Menu

I am attempting to create an accordion menu template to use in our staff newsletter. I've found instructions online to build the template using HTML and CSS. However, I don't have access to input a CSS file for the email.


Has anyone ever successfully used an accordion menu in the body of an eblast? Can you please provide guidance on making this a reality?

It's my understanding that you can't have complex HTML / CSS in emails, as email programs don't interpret the data the same way a webpage does. For instance, this is why you can't have an embedded video in an email (just a screen shot with a link to the video).


I'd love to know if someone knows a workaround for this!

Email clients do not allow Javascript, which eliminates the JQuery solution.

The caviat here is that it's only for the main mobile clients. I'm a bit surprised even this works.


EDIT: That article is from 2011. Not sure what the support for this technique is currently.
