Do you guys combine idea suggestions after awhile if there are more than 3 topics on it?

In my searches, I have seen that a few individuals post the same idea suggestion. Do the developers combine those suggestions and their votes to push the suggestion through. Just wondering, what the thought process is on your end.

BB staff will sometimes combine Ideas when they find two or more that are strongly related or the same.  Other Users will often post links to related threads so that everyone can easily navigate from one to the other from within the post thread.


But as you found...it is far better to thoroughly search before posting a new idea.  It can take a while for duplicate Ideas to be found and either merged or "linked"...and it's better for BB staff time to be used reading and considering our Ideas rather than cleaning up and consolidating posts.  Plus, one Idea in one post with 25 votes/likes is better/more noticeable than three Ideas that are essentially the same with 10 likes each.


If you find duplicate Ideas, you can post links by copying the URL of one, selecting a word(s) like this in the other post and pasting the URL using the icon in the Message box that looks like a world/globe sitting on a chain link (just to the right of the ABC spell check).


If you end up in the Idea Bank from a discussion in the Community, I always recommend posting the links to related Ideas back in that Community thread.  Anything to make it easy for others to go vote for something you'd like to see!
