Getting CC'd on autoresponders and/or being able to edit notification format

We like to respond immediately to some donations. I have appreciated the way in NetCommunity and Sphere we could either cc ourselves on donor autoresponders and/or set up our own notifications with all of the information we need. For example, if someone donates to a Team in Teamraiser, I would love to be able to be cc'd on the transaction or have, in my inbox, an email where I can set it up to have the name, email, phone, and who they donated to. The large gift notification is handy but I can't edit it to include certain fields (like contact info or who they gave to). 


Scheduling a report can do this to some degree but I have to log in to get the info that I want to just be in my inbox and b) I have to run it at night so I can get the previous days transcations, so we get the info a day after it happened. I want immediate notifications and also want the contact info right there so I don't have to go look anything up.


Both NetComm and Sphere offer these capabilities. It would be great if Luminate could offer the ability to do to one of these things.

    You’re correct in that there isn’t a way within the Admin UI to alter the content of this notification email, but it’s likely that the template can be modified by a Blackbaud developer. You can open a Support case or reach out to your CSM to get further details about scope and cost.

    Nancy here in Luminate support. Chris is right - the large gift notification can be customized for your purposes. Follow the outlined steps in his reponse if this is something that you are interested in pursuing.


    For your second issue - some of this functionality is available through setting up a Recurring Report Schedule and including Admin Groups as targets to be emailed automatically once the report has been ran. While the link supplied does require you to log into the back end of Luminate, it's as simple as clicking a link from your email message and logging in with your credentials to view the data immediately. You can include all the needed columns for contact information so that you have it handy for easy outreach.


    In terms of report type, I would recommend the Transaction Details report available from Data Management > Reports > Report Writer (outlined steps for setting up this report type can be found here in our help documentation). This report gives you the most data point flexibility and will allow you to completely customize your report columns output. Moreover, you can set it to automatically filter for yesterday's transactions through a predefined date range filter on the Configure Filters step.

  • Thanks Nancy. We have set up scheduled reports with the info we need, but for various reasons would also like to have that information available in the Large Gift Notification (which we also have set up). I'll follow Chris' suggestion to have it modified. Thanks!
