One donation page for multiple state donations?

Options

We have a project with many "branches" in other states. Can we segment fonations by adding additional fields EASILY? Any other ides on ow to tackle this problem? Of course, ideally we wouldbe able to get those donations DIRECTLY to those states ed fund accounts. Now I am dreaming. We are currently setting up our Convio COnnector to common ground.

  • You can add fields, even custom fields, to a donation form pretty easily. How did you envision using that to segment your donations?

You could instead use a single donation form, and use session source and subsource parameters in your URLs to this form to determine which bucket the funds should go to.

Or you could use multiple forms, one per state, so that each form belonged to a separate Donation Campaign. That would give each state's campaign its own fundraising goal, reporting, and so on. Once you set up the first form it is easy to copy it to other Campaigns.

Edit: If you wanted a single form, you could add a custom field. Call it something like 'State to Donate To' and make it a dropdown with all the possible options. You will be able to make Report Writer reports with that field.

The easiest solution would be to use Designated Giving, setting up one designee for each "branch". Of course all of the money will still go into a single merchant account. To have donations go to different merchant accounts based on the branch a constituent selects, you would need multiple campaigns. You could have a landing page of some sort where donors first selected the branch, and depending upon what they select, direct them to a different form.

Ah, of course! That makes total sense. And we use that all the time.
