Impact of moving from PC2 to PC1

What is the impact of moving from PC2 back to PC1 half way through an event?  Thanks!

  • Hi Karen,

All of the data and content users have in the PC1 will be ported into PC2.  The biggest risk in moving to PC2 is that the user experience will be pretty jarring/different for users who have already been using the PC1 tools to fundraise, since the look and feel is so different.

If you choose to convert to PC2, you might consider e-mailing your current participants to let them know the change is coming, or has occurred.  The user experience is pretty different from one to the next, so it may increase the volume of calls since users are learning a "new" platform.

The biggest point of confusion for users that I've heard about when moving from PC1 to PCs is that instead of a matrix of contacts in the address book, with icons and amounts denoting team members, donors, past donors, etc, PC2 only allows users to filter the list based on these characteristics.

The user experience with e-mail and page editing, however, is greatly improved.

If you do decide to switch halfway, I'd encourage you to set up a test teamraiser and play around with the PC2 features so you're prepared to answer questions from users.

Please let me know if you have follow up questions, and others, please feel free to chime in with your own experiences!

    Thanks,

  • Hi Noel,

Thanks for responding, but the Teamraiser is currently set up as PC2 and they are thinking of switching back to PC1.  What is the impact of going back to PC1 from PC2?  Thanks.

Ah, got it.  Same drill - the information will all still be there, with the exception of sent e-mails, since that feature did not exist in PC1.  Have they received their summer product release updgrade yet?  We made some improvements that may help with any dissatisfaction.  Release notes are here: http://customer.convio.com/site/News2?page=NewsArticle&id=12823&news_iv_ctrl=1861.
