Microsoft Outlook

Options

We are doing an email newsletter and have sent an email test. We have sent the test to Yahoo Mail, G-Mail, Mac Office's Entourage and Microsoft Outlook. The newsletter appeared great in all email accounts except for Outlook. In Outlook, the header and body text are out of line, some of the images appear on top of the text instead of text wrapping around. Tech Support revised our layout but it's still the same in Outlook. Is anyone else having the same issue? If you are, have you resolved the problem?

  • Outlook is definitely one of the more stubborn email clients.

Basically, the approach is to code your html like its 10 years ago.

Do your layout with tables, avoid floats, keep the styles to a dull roar (and the styles should be inline rather than in a style block or in a linked css file.)

Check out http://litmusapp.com which is a site that genrates JPG previews of your email in a bunch of different clients.

    http://premailer.dialect.ca/ is also useful.
