Donation page title in wrapper

Options

Is there no way to include a placeholder or s-tag in a page wrapper that will pull in the "Public Name" from the donation form?

I don't want the people managing the donation forms to have to hard-code the title HTML into every donation form.

<convio:session name="24" /> seems to be ignored in the wrapper.

  • Try S120:dc:donationFormName

    Though I think there might still a bug with this one showing the internal name rather than the public name.

    Here's what's in my main wrapper for displaying the title.

    <h1><span class="txt">

    Unfortunately, that tag isn't working correctly for me. Its displaying the title of a completely different donation form!

    Thanks for the suggestion -- I didn't know about the S120 tags.

    Not having a tag that will show the donation form title for a wrapper seems really weird.

    That's weird, seems like it would work or not.

    Is this form a copy of an old form? Are you sure it isn't showing the internal name, and the internal name is from the old original?

    I think Brian is right. Is your pagewrapper built using reus pagebuilder pages? This might be an area where you'll need to build the form wrapper within the form itself.

    I have one reus pagebuilder page in the donation form; that reus page is completely static. I'll try removing it.

    Also, I've not published the page because it has the wrong title, I'll try that next and see if it still has the wrong title. The 'internal title' of the form is definitely not this one.

    Still seems crazy that there isn't a straightforward way to put a donation form title into a donation page without hard-coding it into the page.

    Ok, the S120 tag _does_ correctly show up if you view the form at the published URL rather than the 'preview' URL.  Doesn't seem to matter  if you're logged in to the admin or not.

    So the S120 dc:donationFormName value is showing the internal donation form name for the correct form now.  Unfortunately, as I think Brian noted elsewhere, it only shows the internal name, not the 'public' name.

    I see that the title tag for the page is correct -- it shows the 'publid' name.  Is there some way to get the title tag for the page?

    Have you tried [[S24]] to see if that pulls it in? I've never tried this on a donation form so I'm not sure.

    Yeah, s24 was the first one I tried.  Nothing appears, whether I put it in the page wrapper or in an HTML Caption element.  I thought for a minute it may just not be working in 'preview', but publishing the form and looking at it on the 'live' URL didn't work either.

    So I do have an idea to manually control this a bit, but I have to ask, do you have a ton of forms?

    My thought is you could create a conditional with an E-tag that would determine the form ID in the URL and when on a page with that form ID in the URL it would display a specific title that you configured in the conditional. You could build this in a Pagebuilder page and then use an S51 to embed. Not automatic but it would definitely work and give you greater control. Just an idea.

    Before I went the manual work route I'd just use JS.

    <script>document.write (document.title); </script>

    I don't want the people managing the donation forms to have to hard-code the title HTML into every donation form.

    <convio:session name="24" /> seems to be ignored in the wrapper.

    I found that the title of the donation form can be rendered via an [[A7]] tag. Using [[A7]] directly didn't work for us in some pages, so we set the value to a session variable. So first we set the variable as follows:
    [[?x9x4x1046x::[[S4]]::

      [[U0:donationFormTitle=[[A7]]]]

    ::]]

    Then we render it with
    [[S80:donationFormTitle]] in a Thank your page and even in an Autoresponder. Hope it helps.
