Help with Faxing Action Alerts

I am trying to complete an action alert. Firstly, it wouldn't let me send to the 3 legislators we are targeting, I'm assuming because they are from other states? So I tried creating individual targets and manually adding an email address for one and a fax number for the other two. Does Convio automatically fax to the # I listed? It shows the added email as being sent, but doesn't show the 2 targets w/ fax numbers as being sent. (See below.)

It is generally considered a bad practice to drive messages to members of Congress from non-constituents.  The vast majority of members of Congress only receive messages via webform and they block submissions from non-constituents.  As such, Convio enforces these same requirements in our action forms.  When you select an congressional target from the target list, only constituents will be able to send messages to that target.

However, I noticed that you are targeting Steny Hoyer (the majority leader), and am wondering if your three targets are in leadership positions.  If that's the case, you can find most of the congressional leaders listed in the "other prominent leaders" folder in the manage targets page.  Those targets do not enforce constituent matching because they are configured to deliver to the webform or email address that is set up for messages from non-constituents.

Once you've selected a target (whether it's a standard or custom target), on the manage targets page, you will need to check the fax and/or email box to identify the method by which you'd like the messages delivered.
