Shortcuts not working on certain browsers (for certain people)

We ran into an odd problem with shortcuts not working in all browsers.

The particular link is

http://action.sierraclub.org/arcticparty

For some people in our building it worked in all browser, for several of us, it did not work in Chrome, for another it did not work in Firefox.

What could be causing this shortcut not to work in different browsers?

Page Not Found for me in Chrome 8.0.552.28. Works in Firefox 3.6.6.

I can open the GetTogether page in Chrome if I paste in the full url, but the shortcut doesn't redirect.

Thanks for confirming. I ran into something on another site now (typepad.com). Very strange.

Is it always going to a page not found? Or does it sometimes go the homepage?

We had some similar problems, and it had to do with secure content. Are you, by any chance, using a reusable PageBuilder page on that page that is set to be secure?

Hey Marissa - The shortcut Adrian posted does not have reusable content on it - it's the splash page for a personal event. Here's another example with the same issue - though this one is a secure page and directs to an action alert for one of our Chapters: http://action.sierraclub.org/nydrilling

I can't seem to replicate the issue (which doesn't mean it's not there, of course!)

I was able to reproduce it in Chrome about 30 minutes ago, but now its working.

Was this ever solved/resolved? I'm now seeing it to for some pages, only it's not even a shortcut, it's a PageNavigator URL.

Hey Marissa,

No this is unresolved for me. The error still happens for me, and I've heard of a similar thing happening with a pagebuilder page last week, in fact, but I don't have any good info on that -- the problem eventually went away for him.

I've filed a support case... you might want to do the same.
