How do I trace a donation form to a web page?

Options

I am trying to find out where donors are finding a form that I thought was no where to be found. How do I track down where they are finding the form?

Is there a page builder report?

  • Hi Mary,

Is someone making donations to a form that you no longer want to have active? If you aren't sure about the form ID you should be able to track back to it from the donation itself. If you know the name of the party that made the donation, you can go back to the form from the transaction. It should list the form and then you can disable the donation form, if it should no longer be active.

As far as finding the form and how they linked to it, that is a more complicated problem. The form might no longer be on the site at all but could have been sent out in an email months ago. If the donor still had that email or a bookmark to the form and the form was still active, it could still process transactions.

I would recommend asking your donor or going through your site to see where it might still be appearing. In the very least, deactivating the form will stop the transactions from going to the wrong campaign, if that is the concern.

    Hope this helps!

  • Do you have Google (or any other) web analytics package on your form? If so, you can go into your analytics package, and either go through the navigation report (if the referring page is internal), or through your site referrers (if it's external, which chances are, it probably is).
