Message Type

Options

I've always wondered what the use of "Message Type" is when creating a new email message. It appears in the first step of the set-up of an email message under #3: Select a type for this message. Here you can select from a dropdown or create a new "type."

We have a bunch of random types entered in this dropdown and would love to know what other folks use it for. Is it mainly for reporting and grouping types of messages together?
