General Configuration in Donation Forms

Options

Hi,

We are setting up our donation forms for our Go program and are a little confused about what the general configuration is for. When you edit a donation form, in step 3 you have the option to specify who will be notified for large gifts, etc. However, it also appears that you can edit this setting through "General Configuration." It says that it only applies here for "Donation Classic" campaigns. What does this mean? Is it necessary to enter large gift notification values on both the general configuration and step 3? Do general configuration settings override step 3?

Please let us know -- we're not sure how to move forward with this step. Thanks!

  • Hi Liz,

Great questions here!  Donation Classic is our older version of donation forms. However, since you are not using donations classic (you are using what we refer to as Donations 2.0), you don't need to worry about this General Configuration tab.

What you want to update is at the campaign level.  SO, if you go to Fundraising > Donation Management > and click on "Edit" next to the Convio Go! Campaign, you'll simply update your large gift notifications there.  This is how you will want to handle the large gift notifications for each donation campaign you set up. Also, note there are two pieces to a donation form.  There is the campaign that the form is in and then the actual form itself. When you click on "Edit" next to the Convio Go! campaign, you are actually editing the campaign and not a particular donation form.  If you click on "Manage" next to the Convio Go! Campaign, then you will see where your Convio Go! Basic form is listed.  This is the donation form.  Be sure to check out these tutorials on Donation Management: http://customer.convio.com/site/PageServer?pagename=tutorial_donation_management.

Also, be sure to post your questions in the Go! section of the community. We have a special section of Community, called the Convio Go! Program section that is just for the Go! program.  If you post questions in there, all of the constultants that work on Go! will see your questions and we'll get the fastest response to you that way.
