EOY campaign group query

Options

Hello:

In building our Dec. 2010 donors group, I tried to associate a query to it as I saw that Convio had done for the De. 2009 donors group. I think I added the query successfully to the group, but was unable to figure out how to cerate a "rebuild group" section to my query that would allow me to rebuild the Dec. 2010 donors group regularly. How do I create this rebuild query function?

Also, in looking at the Convio-created De. 2009 donors query, I notice that your criteria was anyone who donated after 12/1/2009. This reutrns a large group now, because it includes anyone who has donated since then. Not just the donors from the EOY 2009 campaign. I chose my criteria for the Dec. 2010 donors query to be members of the Dec. 2010 Donors group. Will that work?

  • Hi Nancy,

For each individual query, you can click the link after running the query that says "Use this query" and that will allow you to create a group from the query results.  As you point out, the Dec donors for 2009 includes a much larger set of donors now because so much time has gone by, so what I'd recommend doing here is to create an entirely new query, run that query, and then click the link to "Use this query" to create a brand new group.  When you click to create this new group, on that screen is where you'll see the "rebuild" options for this new group.

You should be able to solve this problem by creating a new query, create a new group, and then include that group on the do not mail list for each message where they should be suppressed.  When you configure the email deliveries, make sure to choose the option during delivery set up of "Rebuild group at delivery".

    Hope this helps,

    Adam

Thanks. I was able to do this yesterday. Today i did a test transaction with the following results:

When I clicked "Rebuild group" in the query action list, my name appeared as a group member of Dec. 2010 donors.

When I checked Dec. 2010 Donors under Constituents/Groups/View Members, there are no active group members there.

Why would I appear in one Dec. 2010 donors group in one area, and not the other?

Please refresh the group as well. Thanks.
