Prospect Tab and Pipeline

Our new CEO would like us to start using the proposal option in the Prospect tab. We are planning to move to NXT soon but wants to know the best ways to utilize the current system until we are able to make the upgrade. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    If you can provide a bit more detail, I can share what we've done.
  • We use the proposal tab specifically to track proposed project-like solicitations.  For instance, Donor x has a Proposal for $5,000 to sponsor a golf outing, $50,000 to establish a family endowment, and $125,000 to support the building of a new music building.  Each proposal might have a different solicitor, one who is an expert in planned giving, music, or athletics.  Each solicitor can then work with their team to coordinate asking times, meetings, and other important items.  We can rate each proposals likeliness of being fulfilled and use that for estimating major gifts for the year.  We can code the proposals by their restrictions -- capital, scholarship, unrestricted, etc.

    We are trying to track all active proposals and what can be expected in the coming years (those down the pipeline that have not actually been presented).

    We are in the same situation where we see the need to develop a pipeline report and track our major gift efforts.  Currently, we are using actions to track moves management, but I'd be interested in learning more how your organization does it.  It looks you have a good handle on prospect tracking and reporting.
