Companies with multiple locations

Hi RE Community!

I was wanting to know how you track the addresses of companies that have multiple locations in an organization record? Do you create a separate org record for each address or do you somehow indicate through address type (maybe??) the multiple correct addresses?  I read a while back that the "parent" and "child" records really are not effective for this. Thanks for any input in advance.

  • Because we do certain mailers to business addresses rather than home, it was important that we had an organization record for each instance of the businesses and then linked employees to their actual office's record.  



    To manage the businesses, we establish one as the master organization record and save " 'org name' Primary" as an alias for the purposes of searching.  Then for Org Records which are subsidiaries or alternate locations, on the Org 2 tab we use the existing data field "Parent Corp" which allows you to search for constituent records (searching the business name and *primary to find the right record).  Now those biz records are linked!
