RE to assist in 990 reporting

Does anyone use functions/reports from RE to assist in 990 reporting? For example, does anyone use the event management module and reports to assist in 990 reporting for special event fundraisers? I'm trying to find ways to reduce the administrative burden we have to further filtering the special event fundraising information reportable for tax purposes.

We set up our Campaign and Fund structure to be able to report this information using standard Gift Detail and Summary Reports.

Thanks John! Do you mind expanding, maybe via examples, on your process? Currently, we export specific GLs into excel, filter for event information only via descriptions and further filter to get appropriate information needed for 990 reporting (990 Part VIII).



I feel like the work that is done currently is WAY TOO MUCH for the few numbers we need for Part VIII item 8 - Fundraising events.
