DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT. Make-A-Wish® Philadelphia, Northern Delaware & Susquehanna Valley seeks a part-time Development Assistant in our regional Lancaster,PA office that oversees the greater Susquehanna Valley area. The office is staffed by the Regional Director and this position.

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for contributing to the Chapter’s fundraising & publicity efforts by supporting the Regional Director with various responsibilities:

 
  • Become familiar with existing strategies to engage individual, school, & corporate support, and explore new ones as a valued, contributing member of the regional office team.
  • Assist in planning & logistics of our signature “Mother’s Day Truck Convoy” event, and offer administrative support to outside groups holding events to benefit the Chapter.
  • Prepare letters, invitations, solicitations, and other marketing materials for mailing.
  • Oversee timely thank-you letters and acknowledgements to all donors.
  • Enter donors into Raiser’s Edge database.
  • Professionally and compassionately relay information regarding our mission to visitors and callers while contributing to the smooth operation of the day-to-day business of the Chapter.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience in event planning and/or other development responsibilities
  • Exceptional skills in operating computer systems including knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs; Raiser’s Edge experience a strong plus.
  • Motivated self-starter, able to handle a variety of duties and prioritize tasks independently with strong organizational, administrative and time management skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Dedication to achieving the goals of Make-A-Wish and the ability to demonstrate sensitivity toward wish children and their families and to work well as a team with other staff.
 

The position is 20 flexible hours a week, however more & varied hours may be necessary during peak event times (in particular April – May for our signature event, the Mother’s Day Truck Convoy). The salary for this position is $15/hr.
