Raiser’s Edge Database Director, Wildwood School, Los Angeles, CA

Wildwood School is a preeminent, progressive coed, college-preparatory day school in West Los Angeles serving 700 students from kindergarten through 12th grade on two campuses. The school is seeking a highly-skilled, collaborative, Raiser’s Edge power user to join a fast-paced, dynamic, nine-person Advancement Department.



The Raiser’s Edge Database Director works collaboratively with other Blackbaud managers in the school and is directly supervised by the Director of Strategic Partnerships. The Database Director has primary responsibility for developing and executing forward-thinking database-related strategies to enhance the school’s robust fundraising and communications efforts. Additionally, the Director manages all advancement-related data inputting and gift processing, builds and produces high-level reporting and strategic data analyses, and helps conduct prospect research. 

 

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

Strategic Visioning
  • Primary architect in developing Raiser’s Edge-based strategies to increase donor engagement, stewardship, fundraising revenues, and communications efforts
Campaign Management and Reporting (Annual Fund, endowment, major gifts, and capital initiatives)
  • Develop and produce custom reports and queries to analyze campaign performance throughout the year, including complex data analysis
  • Generate appeal letters; manage system of campaign volunteer assignments; prepare volunteer reports
Management
  • Management of part-time Raiser’s Edge Data Entry Coordinator
  • May be responsible for acquiring and managing temporary data entry personal
  • Provide training for Raiser’s Edge users as needed
  • Manage implementation of newly procured Blackbaud products, including ConnectRE
  • Leadership role in managing on-campus Blackbaud users group
 

Data Management and Gift Processing
  • Process all contributions, record pledges, maintain accurate constituent records, and prepare donor acknowledgement communications and documentation
  • Develop and implement procedures to guide accurate data entry, gift processing, and reporting
  • Maintain policies and procedures to protect sensitive donor information
  • Maintain accurate donor records, including address updates through NCOA
  • Collaborate with colleague departments to perform data imports/exports.
  • Generate mailing lists/labels for school publications
  • Collaborate with the business office to perform monthly reconciliation
Research
  • Use online tools to conduct donor research
  • Collaborate with development staff to assist with prospect identification and cultivation strategies, including donor rating and segmentation
  • Track research data in Raisers Edge to maintain prospect and donor lists and profiles
  • Use prospect management reports to facilitate the development department’s research agenda
Essential skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, in particular, Excel
  • Mastery of Raiser’s Edge and related applications
  • A proven track record of taking Raiser’s Edge usage and protocols to the highest possible level
  • Ability to construct and execute high-level custom reporting and data analysis
  • Impeccable attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • A sense of humor, collegiality, and calmness under pressure
  • A results-oriented, strategic thinker who delivers results  
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of four years of experience as a database manager, preferably in an independent school or non-profit setting
  • Self-directed and forward thinking
  • A commitment to, and enthusiasm for, Wildwood’s mission, vision, and case for support
