Responsibilities:
  • Primarily work with annual giving donors (gifts up to $1,000) newly acquired through a telefundraising campaign and with direct mail donors, including online donors
  • Process gift donations, including accurately creating new donor records, gift, pledge and payment records as needed and according to procedures
  • Update constituent data for all individuals and organizations, including address updates, constituent demographics, and relationship links.
  • Run daily reconciliation for gift batches
  • Update donor constituent records as required to maintain the integrity of database
  • Ensure proper documentation is in place to comply with the annual Audit.
  • Field and respond to donor phone calls and inquiries, as required
  • Assist with completion of various administrative tasks, as needed
  • Work closely with Donor Relations & Database Assistant to ensure donor-centred cultivation including the processing of tribute cards and sending of welcome packages to new donors
  • Work collaboratively with staff team to facilitate fundraising, communications, data capture and reporting
  • Keep current with all Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regulations and requirements
  • Other duties as required.
Position Requirements:
  • Current and minimum of 2 years The Raiser’s Edge database experience, a must
  • Education or experience working in a fundraising environment
  • Donation processing experience
  • Excellent keyboarding and word processing skills, inclusive of accuracy and speed
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technology
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including mail merge function
  • Highly detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry
  • Ability to prioritize work and to perform multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines in a busy and fluid work environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills with the ability to work courteously and tactfully with colleagues and the public
  • Able to use discretion in dealing with confidential data
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to take initiative; work well as a team member and independently
  • Familiarity with accounting practices and procedures an asset
