Development Data Analyst - California State University Northridge

Major Duties 

Under the supervision of the Director of Advancement Services, the Development Data Analyst provides analysis of institutional data to improve philanthropic productivity and accountability.  The incumbent works with Advancement colleagues to identify and extract data from the University's database using unique parameters and queries; assists in global data updates and uploads from external data sources using application programming; helps develop and implement internal policies and procedures within Advancement Services; develops reports and analysis regarding the philanthropic and membership efforts of the university. Performs other duties as assigned. 

 General Information 

THE SELECTED CANDIDATE MUST PASS A FINGERPRINT CLEARANCE (LIVESCAN).

The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

Qualifications 

Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in a related field. Master's degree in business or public administration preferred. Certification training and applied experience may be substituted for the required education, on a year-for-year basis up to two years. Three years of full-time, progressively responsible experience in higher education advancement or institutional research. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge of and experience with implementation of policies and procedures. Working knowledge of Raiser's Edge software and Microsoft products such as Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word. Proficiency with relational databases, Visual Basic and Crystal Reports. Thorough knowledge of PC/MAC based web browsers and related tools.  Ability and specialized skills to: produce quantitative and qualitative reports; analyze problems; propose effective solutions; understand functional and procedural requirements; analyze problems and propose effective solution; understand functional and procedural requirements and develop alternative solutions;  relate solutions to management, technical staff, and users; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; make presentations; conduct meetings; provide user training; and prepare programming and user documentation. Candidate must possess excellent communication and customer services skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of individuals. 

 

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule 

The university offers an excellent benefits package. The salary range for this classification is: $4372 - $9217

The anticipated hiring range: $4372 - $5750, dependent upon qualifications and experience.

About the Department 

The Resource Management Department is comprised of a collaborative team of professionals working in an engaging and fast-paced environment to increase CSUN's relationships and resources by managing the universities external constituent data base, fundraising research, donor management systems, and foundation accounting.

    I was wondering if this position is reposted recently, becaus it is not currently on the CSUN website and the posting says that the screening happend in May of 2015.
