Online Express donation form attribute

We have memorial bricks that can be purchased (in 2 different sizes) and the donor can have either 3 lines of free form text or 6 lines of free form text engraved on the brick depending on the size they order.  There is a limit of 20 characters per line.  I created an attribute for each line but would like to be able to limit the text to 20 characters.  This currently cannot be done.  This is an important feature for us because even when we say there is a limit there are numerous times when donors go well over that.

Unfortunately, this isn't an option at the moment.  I would post it in the OLX Idea Bank, because I would guess you're not the only one that needs something along these lines.  An Attribute Comment is limited to 50 characters, but the Description when set as a Text Field, appears to be unlimited (or more than what I tested with, which was about 80).



An alternative might be to take the Attributes off the OLX Donation page and either have the confirmation page redirect to a separate form that does give you character limit controls and sends you the data in an email, or put something on the donation form that indicates they will receive a form attached to an email within 2 days to fill in that information.  Then you can create a PDF Form in Adobe Acrobat or even a Word Form (we have one that we use internally and I'd be happy to share it if you want) and email it to those folks.  Depends a bit on the volume of these gifts that you receive, but it would give you better control over the data they submit and also another opportunity to be in contact with some of your donors.
