Director, Annual Giving

Saint Anselm College is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Annual Giving to direct and coordinate a comprehensive annual campaign for the College to raise unrestricted and designated current use gifts in support of current operations.

Founded in 1889, Saint Anselm College is a Benedictine, Catholic, liberal arts college dedicated to undergraduate education. Located on 400 acres overlooking Manchester, NH, Saint Anselm seeks to provide an educational experience that promotes the intellectual, spiritual and personal growth of its students. The College's Benedictine heritage is reflected in long-standing traditions of hospitality, a love of learning, community service, and citizenship. The community includes approximately 2,000 students, 145 full-time faculty members and 370 full-time staff in addition to the monks of Saint Anselm Abbey.

The Director of Annual Giving will plan, implement, and evaluate all of the specific programs and activities associated with The Saint Anselm Fund and annual giving. These programs include direct mail, telemarketing, reunion giving, senior class giving, young alumni giving, President’s Society (annual donors of $1000+), and personal solicitation of leadership annual donors and prospects. The Director will personally manage a portfolio of individuals capable of making leadership annual gifts of $1000 or more. The Director will also oversee volunteer management of alumni who assist with fundraising activities. The Director of Annual Giving supervises a team of three gift officers and one administrative assistant.

The Director will work closely with the Executive Director of Development to set overall strategy and goals for the annual giving program. The Director will also collaborate with other individuals within the College Advancement team and across campus in support of various annual giving programs.

Required Skills

Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills are necessary, as is the ability to work in a fast-paced setting and manage projects with complex timelines. Good written and oral communication skills. Some management experience desirable. Ability to deal professionally and effectively with and represent the College to a wide range of individuals/groups within and outside of the College.

Required Experience

Bachelor's degree plus three to four years of relevant fundraising experience, with specific expertise in annual giving, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
