Job Summary

The Women’s Foundation of California is seeking a part time, temporary Development Assistant to support our busy Development Team during year-end fundraising. As a member of the Development Team, the Development Assistant would primarily be responsible for data and gift entry (The Raiser’s Edge), processing acknowledgment letters, and other development duties as assigned. This position reports to and works closely with the Development Operations Associate to ensure accurate and efficient processing of all information.



Duties and Responsibilities
  • Via gift batches, accurately enter individual, giving circle, fiscally sponsored gifts, pledges and grants to The Raiser’s Edge, allocating to correct fund/project.
  • Post batches to the general ledger in The Financial Edge accounting software.
  • Produce timely gift acknowledgment letters (standard: within three days).
  • Perform accurate entry of data for donor and prospect records.
  • Maintain accurate and organized donor files and records for future auditing needs.
  • Attend and actively participate in biweekly Development Team meetings.
  • Collaborate with other administrative staff on general office duties as needed.
  • Participate in special projects as requested.

Skills
  • Familiarity with CRM software as well as one year of data entry experience required; knowledge of The Raiser’s Edge preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook and Office Suite (especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint), including mail merges.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong listening, oral and written communication skills.
  •   Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work well under minimal supervision by taking initiative, ensuring successful project management and timely completion; ability to maintain quality work standards with a high volume of work.

Additional Information

This is a temporary, part time, nonexempt position of 15 to 20 hours per week. Temporary positions are not eligible for benefits, except for paid sick time. Work hours are flexible and need to be conducted on site in our Oakland office, during normal business hours of 9AM – 5PM (this is not a remote or after-hours opportunity).
