The 60-year-old, $230 million, 65-employee Ball State University Foundation is entering a new era – one with no barriers between advancement, alumni relations and stewardship. On the eve of our university’s centennial, under an empowering, entrepreneurial management philosophy, our newly unified team is raising funds, engaging alumni and serving donors in new and better ways.  

To help lead the Advancement Services and Information Technology area, the foundation seeks a strategy driven, energetic, people-oriented, results-driven and technically competent professional. Reporting to the Executive Vice President for Finance, Operations and Treasurer, this position provides an opportunity to help build and lead the Advancement Services and IT area for the Ball State University Foundation as it strives to accomplish its mission of supporting Ball State University.  This is a very exciting time at the Foundation as we are about to embark on the installation of a completely new business system to allow us to better support Ball State University, our donors and other constituents all within a fun, empowering culture.

Responsibilities:  Provide leadership and strategic direction for the Advancement Services and IT area of the Ball State University Foundation (BSUF).  Direct and manage all functions of the Advancement Services and IT area including the training of the staff necessary to carry out these functions.  Liaison with the President/CEO of the BSUF, the Senior Vice President for Development, and the Vice President for Strategic Engagement and Communications to ensure their area’s Advancement Services and IT needs are being met.

 

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; five years of experience in technical leadership and management of personnel, resources, programs and computer systems along with a working experience of University Advancement and/or fundraising functions and responsibilities;  excellent people leader and the ability to work with people in all parts of the Foundation and University; strategic thinker who can understand an issue and work to its conclusion with their staff and other constituents;    Preferred qualifications:  master’s degree in management, business and/or computer related areas.; eight years of experience in the higher education advancement area; use of good judgment and diplomacy; ability to collaborate with colleagues from a variety of disciplines; fast-paced and results oriented with the ability to work in a timely manner with multiple deadlines and competing requirements; strong written, presentation, verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills; business and financial sense.
