Are you an ambitious and determined individual with experience of securing income within a not-for-profit or commercial sales environment?

We are looking for an experienced professional to use their knowledge and expertise to initiate, develop and manage a portfolio of relationships to secure philanthropic income to the University, primarily in the form of major gifts from corporates, trusts and foundations.  This post presents an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our dedicated team in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations (ODAR).

Ideally you will have trust  and foundation fundraising experience within Higher Education or the Third sector.  We would welcome applications if you have relevant private sector commercial experience in developing new partnerships, licensing and income generation with a demonstrable interest in transitioning your skills into a philanthropic environment.

You will be self-motivated and creative with the ability to work collaboratively across a large and complex organisation and work with variety of stakeholders to ensure organisational success. You will have the intellectual curiosity required to understand complex information, and the ability to transform this into engaging, and compelling proposals to secure philanthropic support.  As a confident, creative and capable communicator, you will be comfortable in a donor facing role and will be able to use your persuasion and negotiation skills to implement successful fundraising strategies to raise significant major gifts for the University.

With a collaborative and flexible style of working, you will be comfortable managing a fluctuating workload.  As well as being a capable manager, you will be comfortable leading change.  You will inherently understand the value of KPIs in identifying the impact of your activity, and be able to use data to drive performance.  You will be motivated to work independently, yet an effective team player who takes a flexible approach to their work.
