Error in Save: No rights to Edit Constituent Address

Options
Good morning,

I received this message from one of our development officers this morning:

"Something weird is going on with Gary Israel’s record. I opened it and am trying to add an action for an upcoming meeting, but I get the pop up saying it must be saved before proceeding (even though I haven’t made any edits yet) – so I click YES save the constituent, but then I get “Error in Save: No rights to Edit Constituent Address” (I’m not trying to edit the address, so I’m not sure why that pops up). When I click OK on that error message, an address box for Gary Israel pops up.

Anyway, it’s not letting me add my action because it needs to save previous changes, but I don’t have the rights to save the changes … help?"

I attempted to recreate the issue; however, I have full rights so I did not receive an error message.  Does anyone know why the system would ask the user to save changes when no changes were made?  Thanks!

  • Did you or someone else recently set some new address related field as required? If so, then any record with blank contents for that field would generate this error message when trying to save, and if the user doesn't have the rights to update that field, then they'll be stuck in this sort of loop.

Or it could be a bug of some kind. I know we're having all sorts of hosted server issues this morning.
