The Opportunity 

We have an immediate need for an Assistant, Development Database who will report to the Manager, Development Database. The Assistant, Development Database will support our Resource Development team in gift processing and maintaining the accuracy of content in our Raiser's Edge fundraising software.

As an Assistant, Development Database you will:
  • Enters all gifts, grants, sponsorships and pledge payments made to APC 
  • Maintain accurate consistent records and an effective electronic and paper filing system for all documentation
  • Produce related correspondence, reports, and documentation (including tax receipts) from our constituent management database (Raiser's Edge) including preparing email and letter campaigns
  • Assist with training and supporting data integration across APC's diverse software platforms
  • Respond to in-person and telephone enquiries to provide extraordinary experiences to our donors, volunteers and visitors
Required Qualifications

Candidates must have:
  • A postsecondary certificate in office administration from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of three years of experience in administrative support or records management, and accurately maintaining confidential electronic information
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Additional training and specific experience with Raiser's Edge, Crystal Reports and graphic design are valued assets. Working knowledge of current CRA guidelines as it applies to charitable giving would be an asset.

Candidates must demonstrate:
  • Technology skills including proficiency with office software, Raiser's Edge fundraising software, and the demonstrated capacity to learn new technology
  • Proficient business writing, editing, formatting, and proofing skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Professionalism including effective management of confidential information and a highly professional demeanour
  • Exceptional customer service and rapport building skills to appeal to and provide extraordinary experiences to our diverse constituents
  • Organizational skills to consistently plan, manage resources and achieve assigned goals within a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Effective communication skills for maintaining effective, professional and respectful working relationships with fellow employees and volunteers, establishing positive relationships with members, and relating well with visitors
  • A commitment to safety, teamwork and collaboration with staff, volunteers and community partners
