Advancement Assistant



The World Affairs Council seeks a candidate with an accounting and/or nonprofit development background who combines strong verbal and written communication skills with detail and deadline orientation. This position is a hybrid of accounting and development roles. The advancement assistant performs duties under the direction of the CEO/President, CFO and VP Development. RAISER'S EDGE and FINANCIAL EDGE experience is desired but not required. 



Recurring duties include preparing payables, producing checks, and entering online and offline credit card payments into Financial Edge and Raiser's Edge. The assistant also maintains vendor invoice files, handles vendor inquiries, prepares monthly reconciliation reports for donation tax receipts and acknowledgements, and sends receipts and invoices as needed. The assistant is responsible for remote deposit of checks and conducts monthly bank reconciliations. The assistant co-manages Council member records in Raiser's Edge and the processing of NetCommunity transactions. 



This position also offers the opportunity to participate in membership/donor development, perform prospect research, solicit memberships, and coordinate the administrative and member service functions for our Global Forum, a high-level donor membership class. The assistant is the correspondence contact for Global Forum members and participates in the research and planning of the Forum's monthly events and annual trips.
