eReceipting

Options
In the process of testing eReceipts.  On the Fields to Include tab, I highlighted Addressee and clicked Options.  I have indicated I want to use Address/Salutation "From Individual" .  I've indicated to use Joint Mail Label if present on the Individual, otherwise use Primary Addressee.

The issue I'm having is when the Joint Mail Label is being used and the Joint Mail Label option on the constituent records looks something like this:

Mr. John Doe//Ms. Mary Smith

The e-Receipt is printing out with the names side-by-side, not stacked:

Mr. John DoeMs Mary Smith

123 Main St.

Anytown, USA

Has anyone run into this problem?  Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Michelle

  • Haven't run into this.  We prefer our names on one line so our joint formats use "&" between names in addressee/salutation formats.  Might be an option to consider it no one has an easily workable solution.
  • Hi Joann!  Thank you for your reply.  We like our names on one line also, but in cases when the names run too long for one mailing label line, RE formatting includes the 2 slashes // in between the names so when the names are too long for a label line, the // is a code to break the names and stack them on 2 lines:

    Mr. John Doe

    Ms. Mary Smith

This formatting works when printing mailing labels out of RE.  However it doesn't work when doing a Word merge like in Acknowledgement letters and eReceipting.

I just wondered if there wasy any other option to stack the names when using a mail merge?

    Thanks,

    Michelle
  • Would using Mrs. John Doe &//Ms. Mary Smith possibly work?  Would it break for your address labels but print one line in other cases??
  • I think she'd probably still end up with &Mrs. (no space)
  • Then try Mr. John Doe & //Ms. Mary Smith - with a space after "&", before //.  I don't know just trying to suggest possible work around.
