The Report Writer will be responsible for the setup and configuration of data lists, segments and constituent selections in the VCU CRM system. This includes direct mail, email and other marketing channels for renewal, retention and acquisition mailings for all of Development and Alumni Relations, department heads and key stakeholders.

This position will work with the core CRM support team as well as the offices of Annual Giving, Alumni Relations, Events and Communications to ensure that constituents are accurately selected for communications and research needs. This position will develop advanced segmenting and selections through the CRM query tools.

A strong understanding of both CRM data elements as well as marketing strategies is needed to help support the marketing team in building effective marketing campaigns using data from the CRM with the goal of maximizing constituent lifetime value, engagement, and affinity for the organization.

• Utilize CRM ‘drag and drop’ query interface to build mailing list segments and other data lists

• Work with marketing team to optimize segments and marketing efforts for effectiveness and efficiencies

• Maintain an understanding of data elements in CRM in order to effectively segment mailing lists.

• Works with team in planning, developing, implementing and supporting new or existing CRM processes to increase constituent lifetime value and engagement.
