How can someone sign up to an OLX list using a custom form?

Hi! We are migrating to OLX for our email sends from a different solution, and with that other solution, we have set up a custom form we coded where a vistior can sign our petition. This petition form includes a checkbox, and if they click the checkbox, their email gets sent immediately to our email list software, and they get an opt-in confirmation email.



OLX does not seem to have any possibility like this, it seems like the only way for someone to sign up for an OLX list is to use an OLX form. Has anyone else made custom signup forms?



Or perhaps one could do it the other way around, customize the OLX form by adding the petition fields that wouldn't actually post to OLX but to instead to our custom petition database?

Unfortunately, I think you're out of luck.  I believe that the only fields available for an OLX Sign Up form are first name, last name, and email address.  I've requested zip code a few times, as a tool in preventing duplicate records in RE, but so far, no dice.  I'd love to have the ability to add custom fields, so we can ask for specific interests, etc.  And I know the more fields in the form, the less likely folks are to fill it out, but if they're optional and clearly marked as such, I really wish we could have them.



You can set up a form outside of OLX that sends you the data from the form, which you can then manually enter in RE (or batch enter, or even set up an Import process to handle large volumes) and then just bypass the OLX Sign Up form tool altogether.  We do this for foster care inquiries.  That form asks for name, email address, how you found us, and a message box (where they usually explain a little bit about themselves).  The data is then sent in an email to a couple of people in the Foster Care program and to me so I can enter them in RE.  I add an attribute to those records, and that puts them in an OLX list so they start receiving our emails.
