The Senior Grant Specialist identifies and writes foundation, corporate, municipal, state, and federal grant applications for various operating unit initiatives for the Care New England (CNE) System. The incumbent develops an in-depth knowledge of the CNE’s activities and needs, establishes a network of donor prospects, researches the history and focus areas of particular funders, writes and edits grant applications, inquiry and acknowledgement letters, and stewards relationships with funders. Demonstrates initiative and innovation in developing/enhancing strategies to optimize results in grant funding and performs database functions for prospect and grant management.

 




Required Education


Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred with a minimum of 3 years of experience in grantwriting or a related field. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and writing skills, and an ability to work with all levels of administration required. Experience in healthcare, journalism, and/or communications highly desirable. Candidates must be computer proficient, particularly in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel). Experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge preferred. Must be well organized and able to meet deadlines. Strong editing and proofreading skills are essential.
